Along the left bank of the Brno Reservoir
A trail with six ecologically focused stations runs against the Svratka’s current along the left bank of the Brno Reservoir from the main wharf.
The first station shows the construction of the reservoir, the second info about rare plants in the Skalky Natural Monument. The third presents the flooded village of old Kníničky and the hero who protected the dam at the end of the war. The next station is about typical trees in the area, and then near Sokolák visitors get to know rare plants and animals and a hidden wetland pond. The last station shows the microworld of algae and cyanobacteria, active interventions against their blooms, and attractive photos of finds from the bottom of the reservoir when it was drained in 2009.
